This is a one-person testing site. I buy the subscriptions, use the platforms daily for weeks, and write down what actually happened — including the parts that make my own top pick look worse.

Why this site exists

I started paying for AI companion apps out of ordinary curiosity, and got annoyed twice. First at the products: several of them are genuinely good for an evening and hollow by the second week, and nothing on their marketing pages tells you which is which. Then at the reviews. Search this category and you get the same ten paragraphs recycled across dozens of pages — feature lists lifted from the vendors, scores with no method behind them, and an obvious tell that nobody writing had ever reached day fourteen of a conversation.

So the premise here is narrow and, I think, worth doing: use each platform properly, for at least two weeks, on a paid account, and report the difference between what it promises and what it does. The methodology page sets out the protocol in full — the day-1 conversation, the day-7 and day-14 memory recall checks, the ten-image consistency test, the voice test, and the purchase I make on every platform before it gets a score.

Who it's for

Adults deciding where to spend $10 to $40 a month. If you have already tried one of these apps and are wondering whether a different one is better, or you are about to buy your first subscription and can't tell which claims are real, this site is written for you. It is not written for developers evaluating models, and it is not a general AI news site.

What it covers

Ten platforms are ranked and re-checked: HeyGF AI, Candy AI, Secrets AI, Nomi AI, Character.AI, Replika, CrushOn AI, DreamGF, Janitor AI and Kupid AI. Around that sits a set of pages for the questions people actually arrive with — which apps have real voice calls rather than voice notes, what the free tiers genuinely include, which platforms allow adult content and which filter it, and head-to-heads between the leaders.

Coverage is honest about who wins what, because a ranking where one product wins every category is a ranking nobody should believe. Candy AI makes better images than my top pick. Secrets AI is the one to buy for video. Nomi AI charges a flat fee with no credit meter, which some people will prefer to any coin system. Character.AI is free, enormous and strictly SFW. I say so on every page where it is relevant.

Independence and affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links on this site are referral links, marked sponsored, and I may earn a commission if you subscribe after clicking one. That income funds the subscriptions the testing runs on, and it is disclosed at the top of every page rather than buried here.

What it does not do is move anything. No placement is for sale, no platform previews a page before it publishes, and several of the platforms in the ranking pay nothing at all and are still ranked above ones that would pay. If commissions were setting the order, the list would look very different — and it would be a worse list, which is the actual reason not to do it.
